2006 年に始動以降COLLAGEそしてMETROへと場所を変え、クラブ以外でも屋上のルーフトップやカフェ・バー、ラウンジ、ショップレセプション、国際写真展とのコラボレーション等活動を広げ、日本、世界の著名DJを招待し、JAZZ/CROSSOVERミュージックを発信し続けてきた、"DoitJAZZ!" 今年最後は前回ゲストのMark De Clive-loweをフューチャリングした『Moon Circuitry feat. Mark De Clive-lowe』を Theo Parrish のレーベル「Sound Signature」からリリース、DJとしてもヨーロッパのフェスティバルでも評価の高い「 Ge-Ology 」が初来京。

"DoitJAZZ!", started in 2006, has moved from COLLAGE to METRO and extended its field to the rooftop, the coffee bar, the lounge, the reception party and the collaboration with an international photo exhibition. Japan's and world's famous DJs were invited to that source of JAZZ/CROSSOVER music. At the final event of this year, the audience anticipates "Ge-Ology" who released "Moon Circuitry feat. Mark De Clive-lowe" from Theo Parrish's label "Sound Signature", in which album he features the former guest Mark De Clive-lowe.

Amsterdamで開催された「Dekmantel Festival 2017」での Red Gregとの B2Bは、今年No.1 アクトとの呼び声も高く、2015年にTheo Parrishの「Sound Signature」からリリースした『Moon Circuitry feat. Mark De Clive-lowe』も傑作と評され、DJとしてもProducerとしてもまさに円熟期を迎えている。

In today's fast-paced culture of opportunism and ambition, you seldom meet an individual with remarkable abilities and a storied history of achievements concurrently anchored in humility. Thus, the virtuoso known as GE-OLOGY is a rare find indeed. During the 80's, the young Baltimore native eventually relocated to New York City, where his multi-dimensional talent was destined to ripen with opportunities that continue to ensue globally. This masterful music producer, exceptionally skilled DJ, and equally gifted visual artist has been acclaimed for over two decades, however he remains somewhat of a mystery. Over the course of his career, he's worked with the likes of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Jem and even a young Tupac Shakur. After years of producing dominantly hip-hop tempo releases, he defiantly returned in 2015 with the dance floor monster "Moon Circuitry" featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe (his debut single on Theo Parrish's esteemed Sound Signature imprint). It was received in high regard as perhaps one of the top releases of the year in the underground dance music scene (instituting anticipation for his full-length LP scheduled to be released later this year). Although his roots in composing 4-on-the-floor dance tempo music dates as far back as his earliest hip-hop beats, this seemingly "new" direction boldly challenged expectations based on his previous body of work. Yet to the contrary, his very first production appearance came in the form of a collaboration with the Baltimore-based house music legends, The Basement Boys, who used one of his tracks for their 'Those Guys' moniker in 1993. Collecting records from the age of 5, playing instruments from age 9, and DJing since the age of 11...his relationship with music has been a lifelong journey of unyielding education & exploration. There's something very personal, intimate and risky in his approach to playing records that you don't often experience in today's DJ sets. Yukari BB

1996年よりレコード屋で働き始め、2000年にDJ活動をスタート。Kyoto Jazz Massiveの沖野修也氏監修によるソウルフルハウスのコンピレーション・シリーズ「JOYRIDE」で知られる女性DJユニットのメンバーとして活躍後、渡英。現地のクラブシーンを体感し、その経験が後のキャリアに多大な影響を与える。帰国後2007年からイギリス拠点のダンスミュージック専門オンライン・レコードストア、Juno Recordsの日本支部を運営。東京を中心に、中国、ヨーロッパなどでのDJツアーも遂行し、好評を博した。2013年より拠点を京都に移し、クロスオーヴァー・シーンの数少ない女性DJとして活動の幅を広げている。

Masaki Tamura (Do it JAZZ!)

DJ / Architecture Designer。2003年に活動開始以降、過去の良質な楽曲や最新のクロスオーヴァー・ミュージックを中心とした楽曲を同軸線上にとらえる選曲を得意とし、京都を代表するJAZZ / CROSSOVERイベント”Do it JAZZ!”を中心に様々なイベントを手掛ける。デジタルに傾倒していくシーンに一石を投じるべく、BLACK MUSICをルーツに持つバンド・DJを集めて”日曜日の夕方から濃い生音を”というコンセプトのもと行われた”FREE YOUR MIND (METRO京都)”のプロデュースや、LIVE, ART,FOOD,DJの複合的要素を含む大阪を代表するJAZZ系イベント”BOSSANOVA underground (NOON+Cafe)を通してLIVEアーティストからの信頼も厚く、カフェラウンジ・ルーフトップバー等へサウンドサポートも行う等、京都・大阪・東京を中心に活躍中。昨年は渋谷"THE ROOM"にて行われた"新生音JAZZ"にてレジデンツ沖野修也・松浦俊夫に続きDJとして抜擢、ヨーロッパシーンで活躍するHUGO LX、Aroop Royそして新世代バンドWONKを招待、Degoやfloating pointのサポートを務めた。

Started to perform as DJ/ Architecture Designer excelled mainly at selecting both old and new JAZZ music since 2003 and held various representative events of Kyoto like a CROSSOVER event, "Do it JAZZ!". To stop the changing trend of music from analog to digital, he/she gathered bands and DJs with the background of BLACK MUSIC and produced "FREE YOUR MIND (METRO Kyoto)" based on the concept of "delivering rich live music from the afternoon on Sunday". He/She is also deeply trusted by LIVE performing artists through Osaka's representative JAZZ-related event "BOSSANOVA underground (NOON+Cafe)" that includes multiple elements such as LIVE, ART, FOOD and DJ. Besides, he/she supports cafes and lounges,making the most of his/her wide selection of music and mainly work in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo.

月に10本以上のDJをこなす現場主義な選曲は４つ打ちを軸にHOUSE,DISCO,TECHNOとフロアを飽きさせず抜群の安定感。京都・東京のクラブ現場にて海外アーティストのサポートDJを数多く担当し、先月京都の音好きが集まる”WEST HARLEM”にてスウェーデンの人気リエディットレーベルである”Gamm”” Basic Fingers “の主催MAD MATSの京都ツアーを成功に導いたのも記憶に新しい。

Torei (SND)

2014年より京都、大阪にてDJ活動を開始。West Harlemにてイベント「HUgE」、「SND」を主催。また年間平均40本を超えるDJをこなして修行中。DJスタイルはハウス、ディスコを中心に、更なるグルーヴ求めてワールドミュージックへ。近年は広く活躍するアーティストと共演を重ねており、特にMad Matsからは近年で最も興奮したDJと賞賛を受ける。
